Gynaec Oncology
Gynaec Oncology
Gynecologic oncology is a sub-specialty field of obstetrics and gynecology that concentrates on the diagnosis and treatment of cancers of the female reproductive system, as well as complex non-cancerous conditions. Chemotheropy can also be provided under this field. Gynecologists offer an integrated approach to the diagnosis and surgical management of cancerous and noncancerous (benign) conditions of the female reproductive system. These include cervical cancer, endometriosis, fibroids, ovarian cancer, pelvic masses, uterine cancer, vaginal cancer and vulvar cancer.
Gynaec Cancer screening: Cervical cancer is the only gynecologic cancer that has recommended screening tests. The Pap test (or Pap smear) and HPV test can help prevent cervical cancer or find it early.
Laparoscopic Weatherizes Hysterectomy for cancer cervix: It is a radical surgery which is performed for cervical cancer through a key hole procedure.
Ovarian cancer surgery: The first goal of ovarian cancer surgery is to stage the cancer − to see how far the cancer has spread from the ovary. Usually this means removing the uterus (this operation is called a hysterectomy), along with both ovaries and fallopian tubes (this is called a bilateral salpingo-oophorectomy or BSO). Along with this the abdomen is looked for any spread and which is also removed along with abdominal and pelvic lymphnodes.
